Pakistan and India will once again take the fields on Monday to finish their Super Four clash in the ongoing Asia Cup 2023 at the R.Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
After having a day full of rain spells, the match between the arch-rivals was called off and is to be resumed tomorrow since a reserve day had been set aside for the high-voltage clash.
But the rain is ready to play spoilsport on the reserve day of the much-awaited encounter.
According to The Weather Channel, thunderstorms are expected on Monday (September 11) with a 90% chance of rain during the day and night.
What happens if rain washes out remaining matches?
Pakistan and Sri Lanka have won their respective matches in the Super Four and have two points each.
If the remaining matches — including Pak vs India — are washed out, then Pakistan and Sri Lanka will make it to the final as both teams will have four points each.
Meanwhile, India will finish third in the Super 4 points table with three points and Bangladesh will have only one point as they have already lost their two Super 4 matches.
The trophy will be shared if the final of the Asia Cup 2023 is also washed out on September 17.
